Freshwater pearls

Zhejian Province China & Japan, Kasumiga-ura

The heart and home of freshwater pearls, China is regarded for its abunance of freshwater mussels that are able to produce pearls in a countless variety of shapes sizes and colors. Pearl farming is primarily focused in lakes across Zhejiang provinces, with trading taking place in the pearl city of Zhuji.

Perhaps the most popular of all pearl varieties, the Freshwater pearl is derived from a mussel other than an oyster and is  renown for its diverse range of sizes, colors, and shapes. Most of our freshwater pearls are sourced directly from Zhuji, in the Zhejiang Province in China. However, our naturally pink freshwater pearls known as Kasumiga pearls are sourced in Kasumiga -ura, Japan.
