These naturally dark gems are cultivated across the islands known as Tahiti of French Polynesia and are also known as "Tahitian" pearls. Their naturally dark color make them one of the most unique of all cultured pearl varieties. Ranging in color from silver to deep black, these pearls come in a range of secondary color tones and a wide range of shapes. Black South Sea pearls typically range in size from 8mm-17mm, and takes from 3-4 years to cultivate a single pearl.
